Taking advice from someone with experience and understanding can be encouraging, motivating, and a positive step toward a better life. However, we really must be careful to whom we give that power of influence.
Most of us are happy to give advice because we value our own opinions. But, we don’t always have more than a sideline view of a situation. We aren’t always going to understand what someone is going through.
Experience yields understanding.
Advice may come from a place of concern and experience, but, we have to realize that someone else’s experience is not necessarily the same as our own. Advice can lack perspective, leaving us discouraged if we soak up even well-intended, though misguided advice. So, be careful to choose the right advice!
